About PLC Service

Started in 1987, PLC Service (Professional Land Clearing Service) began as a small ROW clearing company; performing the majority of our work in North and South Carolina. Clearing the ROW for transmission line services for Duke Energy and Southeast Power Corporation.  We perform all aspects of a line clear; including, but not limited to, clearing and grubbing, grassing, fence erection and erosion control work.

In 2006, with the company growing, we set about to incorporate and became PLC Service, Incorporated, and achieved certification as a WBE and a HUB certified company. With owner, Rebecca Garrett, at the helm we began clearing for a wider range of clients. These include power line clearing for the companies we were already established with and stretching to include East Kentucky Power Company, Santee Cooper Company and Southeast Power Company.

Currently, we employ an average of 25 employees and hire local workers when a specific need such as gravel hauling or substation site preparation work is needed to assist us in meeting our contract deadline.

Our focus is and always has been on safety; not only for our employees but for any and all persons in our vicinity. We observe all OSHA Regulations. Our employees observe all safety measures while at work and caution is foremost in their minds.

While we aren’t a tremendously large corporation, our quantity of machinery allows us to perform large contracts well within the time frame allotted. Our excellent credit rating gives us the option of being able to rent any machinery we do not own to complete larger contracts. Yet, not being so large also allows us the liberty of bidding and completing smaller jobs as well with our smaller overhead.
